Białystok

Białystok; the city where I spent the spring semester of 2025 as part of my Erasmus exchange, and one that still comes to mind every now and then and never really leaves. Somewhat casually, and with my then 2.7 GPA, I took the Erasmus selection exam. To my surprise, I was accepted, so I packed up my things, headed to Warsaw, and from there made my way to Białystok.

Photos in no particular order

Warsaw Chopin Airport

Closest we got with Taylan

3. World All-Star - Chilling on the grass after Arya's birthday

From the day when we experienced 'local delicacies' and then went to a pierogi place. Couldn't see him again after the 2. week :(

Having an Aegean-themed picnic with Andreas' long-distance guests - Dojlidy

Martina's volunteer friends, Recep, Sezer and me - Pub Fiction

Nothing like McDonald's

+ I want the islands though?

Enjoying the sun after a long time with ice-cream

Branicki Palace

One of Nero's favourite; the Asian place (everyone in the picture got addicted to this place later on)

5 pm tea after the picnic; I went to put some water into the kettle, missed whole action

Beta 724 - Getting ready for the night - tidy up your room mate guests are coming!

Water park trip (shout-out to the staff who didn't mind me walking around the entire complex barefoot after I forgot my flip-flops

Campfire near Dojlidy - 2. or 3. event

Enjoying a bit of cinema

University campus, from the window of my dorm room

The weird pose I struck in front of the 'I <3 PB' sign

From the first weeks; two happy lads who have seen the sun again after a long long time

Old Maid players - after the game we probably went to the McDonald's at 6 am, as the last stop of a bicycle tour in the centre

Bialystok city centre

Enjoying the city centre with Andreas, Christina, and Mr. Erasmus

The lovely Mickiewicz Lake, which I used to pass by whenever I was heading to Santander or the shopping mall (there was also a bicycle parking area right on the corner). I was actually planning to write this blog here, but I could never quite pronounce the name of the lake.

Unnecessary confidence pose

From the last days in the city; the girl who we never got to figure out where she is from

Tarhana soup with some crispy bread on top

Trying out some glasses in Rossmann with Martina

Sunset in the lake with Nero, vibing to some Portuguese songs, the camera is a must-have as always

Time attack event at the circuit

The bikes that suddenly appeared in the middle of spring, which were incredibly fun to ride on the city's bike paths and cheap as well (the first 15 minutes were free, and then the price increased by 1 zloty each time). We definitely made the most of them.

One big happy family

The path finder; Catholic cathedral of the city

Having a bit of chat and playing games on the campus grass

After the event in Alejandro's garden, getting some slice pizzas in

Zwierzyniecka Street

Playing my part on the birthday RP; Apo abi is a bit tense but everyone else is having a great time

The beautiful people who came to see me off for my return train - Tino had a small accident the day before, but it’s okay, everything will get better.

I stole some of the photos from Nero’s albums. Nero’s Instagram account where he shares his artistic works: @nero_soares
